Tesha's Legacy
Tesha's UK & Tanzania Funeral and memorial Events
We are currently working with Tesha's family in order to support them organise the funeral arrangements. Tesha had always planned to return home to the village of Shimbwe and so his family are trying to organise the repatriation of Tesha's body back to Tanzania.
The family would like to do something in Eastbourne to mark Tesha's passing before he leaves for Tanzania. They would like to include as many of his friends and work colleagues as possible but organising this and with the current Covid-19 restrictions and the fact that none of his family live locally makes this already very stressful time for the family even more difficult.
If you are a friend or colleague of Tesha and have any stories or photo's of Tesha's life in the UK that you are willing to share with his family please let us know. Please also click on this link if would like to be involved in Tesha's final goodbye.
We are now asking Tesha's friends and work colleagues to paint a pebble for Tesha, these will be laid on his grave in Tanzania. We are also looking for school's, youth groups and others in the wider community to paint pebbles to be placed around the village - see the Pebble and a Pound link at the bottom of this page.

Tesha's Legacy Project in Tanzania
The project we had been discussing with Tesha before he died was still in the very early stages. Tesha was keen to support the primary schools in his village and we have lots of ideas how we can move forward with this work. However, now this will form part of Tesha's legacy we want to, where possible, include as many of his friends and colleagues in shaping our work and to deliver an even more ambitious project. Tesha also leaves behind a 7 year old son, John. Until we are clear about what financial arrangements Tesha may have made for his son, we are keeping open the possibility some of the money raised in Tesha's memory may also be required to support John through the coming years.
We are now looking to form an East Sussex based local committee that can work together to help us deliver this project. We will need help with fundraising, we will need volunteers who are willing to travel to Tanzania and work with the school children, undertake practical tasks such as painting and repairing a school, facilitating sports sessions, etc. We will need help in finding business partners and forming other relationships with people that can help us realise this project.
Donations & Fundraising
We have set up a Just Giving for people to make donations which we will use to create Tesha's legacy. The money we raise will be used to support childre na nd families from Tesha's village. We may also need to use some of the money to help support Tesha's son.
Once our project is up and running we may also need volunteers willing to undertake fundraising / awareness events such as climbing Mt Kilimanjaro or running the Kilimanjaro marathon.
