Wishing Well responds to the emerging Ukraine crisis, helping to coordinate and support several informal locally set up groups across Lancashire and the North West, in an effort to support the UK response. Wishing Well volunteers also start work on developing language resources for Ukrainian refugees to access once settled into the UK.

Wishing Well forms new partnership with a group of Romanian volunteers to launch a new project teaching English and other subjects to school aged children across various towns in Romania.

Wishing Well has been awarded a grant of £5000 from the Lancashire COVID-19 Community Support Fund & National Emergencies Trust. This grant is to fund the development of our new Health Passports Project, working with families in the Chorley and South Ribble area. This project supports our new 5 year plan, as Wishing Well has been looking to set up a new project in Lancashire, which is where the charity is now based. Find out more here.
We are now in the process of recruiting 30 families to participate in this project. If you know of any families with school aged children that live in the Chorley and South Ribble area that would be interested, please ask them to get in touch.

Wishing Well Trustee's joined 10 Equal Start Children, 2 Roma parents and the centre staff on a weekend trip to the mountains of Sinaia. Whilst in Sinaia the children visited the local monastery and Peles Castle before taking a trip up the mountain on the cable car, which for most was the highlight of the day.

All of the children we have been supporting on our Equal Start Roma Education programme had lots of fun at our annual Christmas party. Special guest Father Christmas arrived with a sledge load if presents, handing out each child with a new winter jumper, trousers and small toy.
