Special People Wanted
For just £1000 per month Wishing Well is able to keep open our International Volunteer & Community Resource Centre in Slatina, Romania. This does not sound a lot of money, especially when you consider that with this money we;
Employ two full time members of staff (Mari & Norica)
Support over 15 local Romanian volunteers, they help us work throughout the year with children and young people in Slatina
Support over 50 international volunteers that join us for short term volunteering placements to provide extra care to institutionalised children
Provide the opportunity 2 mornings per week for institutionalised children from 5 Family Types Homes to visit our centre and spend time in our new therapy room
Provide 4 sessions per week to 3 groups of young Roma children, providing them with valuable educational and social support activities
Work with the local Child Protection Department to support staff training, share learning and promote positive change
Deliver a 6 week summer school for 40 Roma children and children from the Family Type Homes
Organise Christmas, Halloween and small Birthday parties for children form families with fewer opportunities.

£1000 may not sound like a lot of money for us to do all of this but this is what we are doing and we have been doing so since 2004. We are able to do all this on such a small budget because in the UK all of our Charity management and administration is undertaken on a voluntary basis by our team of Trustee's and other charity supporters. However, even though we think we are doing a fantastic job it is still really hard for us to find the funding month on month to keep on running our centre. Therefore, we are launching an appeal to look for 200 special people. All we need is 200 special people that are willing to donate to us just £5 per month and all of our funding problems are resolved. 200 special people would give us long term project sustainability. 200 special people would make such a difference to so many children's lives and yet most would probably not even miss the £5 per month they have committed to us.
