October 2011
Wishing Well were delighted to open a new playroom at the centre in Romania in October 2011. This project has been in the pipeline for a while and we are extremely grateful to Horwich Rotary Club and The Royal Army Physical Training Corps for their determination to fund and complete what can only be described as an amazing room!
The room has been created for orphaned children that have special needs. We recognised the need for them to have a break from their usual environment and their right to experience play and stimulation. A range of play activities are available and we have a varity of multi-sensory activites to offer.
The children are being sponsored by The Royal Army Phyiscal Training Corps to attend the the centre for play sessions, massage and relaxation and the opportunity to learn self help skills for the future.
Wishing Well are extremely grateful for those involved in making this possible. Please see Fundraising Updates for more information.

The week started with VolExpo, our annual event that brings together other voluntary and community groups in the town to highlight the benefits of volunteering. This was followed by a "play day" for children living in a neighbouring village. The week also included a day of seminars and training events for volunteers as well as a "free hugs" event in the centre of the town.
